That song has haunted me for a lifetime. What a beautiful description of the intricacies of the mother-son relationship. My mom is still living, and in fact, I just moved back to my old home town so I could look after her and dad as they age. The traditional roles have now reversed, and I'm now the caretaker, the caregiver. In a way it's very satisfing, like re-paying a debt. Mostly though, it's painful; watching your parents slide slowly down the ramp, towards the only certainty in life...death. I'm prone to "peculiar moods" myself from time to time, so in the event you find yourself in another one of these moods, please don't hesitate in posting whatever moves you. Thank you.
