iio - Thanks- yeah, the roads around here (NW Louisiana) are like that, too. The damn tires always get squared off! It's only when I get to sneak away for a couple of days that I can get to some good roads. Otherwise, my favorite curvy ride ends up being a cloverleaf onramp about 5 miles away. I circle it like those guys in that car commercial. Just wears out the right side of the tread, though ;-) Oh, and congrats on the performance of your portfolio at your site. Over 20% up YTD- you're smokin'!

Alex - Thanks too for the visit. Yeah, when I ran across a VFR with the "bestest engine ever made" (98-01 with gear-driven cams), in the screamin-chicken yellow color (I don't care for red), and that the previous owner had kept in his LIVING ROOM (spotless), I just had to buy it. Had it for 4 years now and still love it to death. And as for the leeches, I'm here to confirm that they suck!

jason - Great to hear from ya! Hope all's well with the new "sitch" out west (sorry, my girls watch Kim Possible), and the best to you also.

will, as usual you provide an extremely thoughtful and intelligent post. it sounds like you're going through some crazy stuff right now and blogging is understandably not your top priority. i hope things get better for you soon. best wishes.

Wow, the water washed all the red off your VFR!

There are definitely a lot of land based leeches out there these days. I often wonder how people of that sort look at themselves in the mirror. Best of luck to you in your efforts to remove them.

Sorry to hear about you getting sued. I like your blog. Wish I had some good mountain-type roads around here. Its hard too get money's worth from the tires without them. Unfortunately, U-turns tend to be the highlight of my ride.
