dogwood- thank you! Back around the turn of the century I had some very minor, peripheral involvement in one of our research studies on angiogenesis using gene therapy via viral vectors- I was one of the guys tagged with preparing the "biologically active" agent, and so was at the highest risk for accidental exposure to the virus. Needless to say, I was very interested in the details of the study; curiously, I can now run 50 miles without tiring... :) That particular one ended up being a bit of a dud, but the entire coronary angiogenesis field has continued to generate great interest. Glad your dad experienced such a "poistive outcome", as they would say!

Excellent post. I enjoyed it very much.

My father is alive today due to angiogenesis. Had he not grown his own bypass, the cardiologist said he would have died a year ago. But, angiogenesis kept him alive long enough for us to discover his coronary artery disease, which lead to a successful quadruple bypass in February.

Also, as the father of two girls, I appreciate your stance on the HPV vaccine. Efforts by drug companies and meddling politicians to force it upon parents just ticks me off.
