Unique Gifts (Shameless Plug)
An old friend makes one-off art pieces - copper trees in driftwood, stained-glass lamps in driftwood, and stained-glass crosses. Prices range from about $30 to over $500. These things look like they’d be some of the most unique and cherished gifts you’ve ever given.
I recently re-established contact with one of the dearest friends I’ve made during my short stay on the old Third Stone. I think the last time I saw him was 1988. We’ve talked on the phone or via email about once every 1-2 years since. We were roomates at LSMSA in the mid-80s. He’s been a physician for years and years now and has a wonderful family (last time I talked to his wife, she was still his girlfriend, and now they’ve been married 17 years!).
Something I’m very happy to see — Craig has never given up his passion for the arts. He sings, he plays about 37 instruments… I think the doctor gig must just be to pay the bills! He now makes these custom driftwood-based pieces. Here’s one I borrowed from his website:

It’s a stained-glass lamp formed inside a piece of driftwood. Each one is different.
He doesn’t know I’m mentioning his stuff on my site, and we have no financial arrangement at all, other than a standing agreement to get together “someday” and buy beers and reminisce until we pass out…
So please check out his site, you may find a one-of-a-kind gift for someone special. Even if you don’t buy something, maybe sign his guestbook and say “buy Will a beer” or similar. I’m just sayin’.
