The Evening is Salvaged
Why did you tell that reporter all your secrets?
It’s complicated, and you’re too young to understand.
Mom says it’s because you have dependency issues, and it was only a matter of time until you threw it all away on some tramp.
Well, that’s one theory…
After wasting the earlier part of the evening on Clerks II, I’ve made up for it with Thank You For Smoking. Brilliantly written, well-acted, acceptably directed. Well worth the rental.

I also saw “Thank you for Smoking” this week and I loved it. What a great movie ! I enjoyed every part of it. Maybe there will a part 2 and the guy’s son will be the main character ?

I think if they were creative with it, they could do a series of “Thank You For (___)” movies, satirizing many of our beloved institutions, like the cell phones which they touched on in that ending scene. They would of course have to lean more and more towards comedy, but that’d be Ok, too.

That’s a great idea. Let’s hope some TV/Hollywood producers are reading your blog

And the original Clerks.

I liked the original Clerks, and can’t count the times I laughed during Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but this one… I dunno… too big-studio boring predictable rehash the jokes that were funny the first time around, I think.
